Job Purpose

Lead the relationship with airport suppliers and internal business units, with the aim of optimizing the total associated cost, identifying cost saving opportunities, proactive performance monitoring and financial claims negotiation.

Main Accountabilities

  • Accountable for saving initiatives identification and successful implementation on SPM Airports Category.
  • Become enabler of transformation initiatives from the supplier market

Main Responsibilities - Tasks

  • Develop and support the sourcing strategy for Airport Handling category by interacting with key stakeholders, analyzing supplier market opportunities and deliver end-to-end category management governance.
  • Identify Airports supplier costs saving opportunities across the category develop annual category plan and lead implementation.
  • Undergoing investigation and negotiation of claims settlement related to supplier underperformance.
  • Identify Airports supplier market transformation opportunities that could enable Vueling long term transformation.
  • Managing the relationship with Airport suppliers, including the assessment of their performance, ensuring that Vueling receives quality and support appropriate for its needs and that it represents value for money.
  • Work closely with GBS Procurement team when running tender processes for Airports category, ensuring agreed timeframe and saving targets are met. part of the joint placement. Negotiate with these stakeholders the premium split.

  • Operations: COO, Ground Ops Director, Flight Ops Director, Managers and Analysts of Department.
  • Finance: CFO, Suppliers and Management Director.
  • Legal Counsel.
  • Director or Manager approving supplier contracts of Airports Category.

Group

  • IAG GBS Procurement Director and Senior Management team
  • IBERIA Handling CTO, CCO

External

  • Senior Management in Handling Suppliers, in particular, IBAS, Group Europe Handling, Avia-Partner, Aviation Services, Swissport, MASA. Senior Management in Customer Supplier Newrest.

Education

  • University Degree in Engineering, preferably Aeronautical, or Business Administration.

Experience

  • 5 years experience in Business Consulting, Operations department in Airlines or Handling Suppliers.
  • Valuable experience with other Airports job positions.

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills; ability to work with multiple stakeholders and time critical environments
  • Innovative problem-solving skills, with proven ability to exercise flexibility and judgement

  • Project management, particularly in the context of arranging new/enhanced cover; procurement of services from brokers and direct insurers; and renewal
