What will you do?
This exciting role will have you work under the guidance of the Director of Missions and Manufacturing. You will have the opportunity to be based in our growing Spain office, specifically in the Murcia area. As the CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced plastic) manufacturing production leader, you will play a key role in driving success at ICEYE in Spain.
Your responsibilities will not only include ensuring that we consistently meet our delivery commitments, but also leading the growth and development of our team and operations while embracing a culture of continuous improvement.
You will be the primary technical lead on developing processing methods, and apply a comprehensive knowledge of composites manufacturing to develop carbon fiber parts, components, and prototypes. You will define testing protocol of carbon materials and parts per company and industry standards, execute on the deliverables and contract milestones (including writing relevant report sections), and provide support for in-process control and quality control testing. You will be tasked to ensure the ICEYE Spain manufacturing site is well aligned with the global ICEYE manufacturing production and AIT (automation, integration, and testing) approach.
This role involves the responsibility of developing a team of around 20 colleagues (with high potential for scale) and designing an efficient manufacturing process for both satellites and HAPS. You have the exciting opportunity to consistently meet set objectives while establishing an operation that excels in terms of cost-effectiveness, speed, and quality.
Requirements
What will you need to be successful in this role?
- Technical expertise, at least 8 years, in carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is a must to ensure mastery of domain concepts and complexities with the aim to contribute to solving problems.
- At least 8 years of experience running a manufacturing site similar in scale and complexity of ICEYE (team of ~20).
- Excellent eye for operational improvement and a hands-on approach to leadership aimed at engaging teams.
- Proven skills in how manufacturing operations are improved and scaled from early phases to more mature phases.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic operations environment–where speed, messiness, and change is increased.
- Efficient and motivational communication skills.
- Ready to move to where the manufacturing site is and be present daily as we improve and scale.
- Excellent command of Spanish and English–both written and spoken.
- Ability to work across organizations and ensure cultural values are successfully implemented considering also the local cultural values.

- Base salary range for this position is 6,250-9,300 EUR per month (gross) contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually.
