The purpose of the role

Promote and ensure the full quality of test raw materials and finished products to ensure quality and follow the operation of the Quality System.


Responsibilities
  1. Testing of raw materials and finished products, including ambient, chilled, frozen, and packaging.
  2. Sampling management of raw materials and finished products for initial testing, re-testing, and specific contaminants testing (liquids sampling, samples collection).
  3. Calibration/verification of quality control equipment (internal).
  4. Retained sample management (sample room).
  5. Entry onto the Baan system of physic-chemical and micro results data.
  6. Sending CoA to customers.
  7. Shelf life extension management (RM’s and FP’s as per customer requirement).
  8. Root cause analysis on reject raw materials & finished products and complaint root cause analysis.
  9. Preparation of supplier complaints and supporting documentation with proper follow-up.
  10. Preparation of samples for sending to external labs (micro, allergens, illegal dyes, etc.).
  11. Help in developing, maintaining, and improving the Quality System through audits (GMP, HACCP, ISO), auditing work instructions and procedures.
  12. Swab testing and machinery inspections for hygiene sign-off (allergens, ATP, micro).
  13. Control of laboratory consumables including (but not limited to) allergen kits, laboratory chemicals, measuring equipment, ATP swabs, etc.
  14. Daily potable water checks.
  15. Assist and play an active role representing the quality function at daily and weekly planning meetings.
  16. Assure and raise the standards of quality within the production environment.
  17. Support 3rd party, customer, or supplier audits.
  18. Management of co-manufacturer production: receiving, analyzing, and entering results into Baan and sending CoA to the customer.
  19. Management of Halal certificates per lot.
  20. Any other quality tasks as stipulated by the Site Quality Manager.

Requirements
  1. Degree or Master’s Degree in a Science-related discipline.
  2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a food testing laboratory.
  3. Basic knowledge of microbiology.
  4. Understanding of analytical chemistry.
  5. Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and customer-required standards.
  6. Fluent in Spanish & English.
  7. Promote and ensure total quality.
  8. Test raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance.
  9. Root cause analysis for out of specification raw materials and finished products.
  10. Ensure the smooth running of the Quality System.
  11. Ability to work well in a fast-moving and challenging environment.
  12. Well organized and self-motivated.
  13. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
