ABOUT THE ROLE
LOCATION: Full Remote, max 1/2 hours +/- CET; max 3 hours flight from Milan (WE WILL REJECT ALL CANDIDATES THAT DO NOT FIT THESE REQUIREMENTS)
SALARY RANGE: 53k-58k + BONUS + 8€ MEAL VOUCHERS (Permanent contract)

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics team and help us transform data into insights that will lead teams to take solid and informed business decisions.
What you’ll do (but not limited to):

  1. Working closely with our growing BI and Data Science Team, you will develop machine learning systems, implementing ML algorithms and productionising minimum viable data products created by the DS team.
  2. Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Business Intelligence infrastructure, based on DBT, Airflow and Google Cloud Platform.
  3. Ingest data from internal and external sources using 3rd party tooling (currently funnel.io).
  4. Improve and maintain Data Quality and Data Reliability.
  5. Move our CRM / CDP / CBP strategy forward.
  6. Assume responsibility for the integration and maintenance of a suitable technology and framework solution for Data Documentation and Governance.
Specific responsibilities:
  1. Study and transform data science prototypes.
  2. Design machine learning systems.
  3. Research and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools.
  4. Develop machine learning applications according to requirements.
  5. Select appropriate datasets and data representation methods.
  6. Run machine learning tests and experiments.
  7. Perform statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results.
  8. Train and retrain systems when necessary.
  9. Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks.
  10. Keep abreast of developments in the field.
Specific requirements:
  1. Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role.
  2. Understanding of data structures, data modelling and software architecture.
  3. Deep knowledge of maths, probability, statistics and algorithms.
  4. Ability to write robust code in Python and R.
  5. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn).
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Ability to work in a team.
  8. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field; Master’s degree is a plus.
What you’ll bring to the table:
  1. Taking ownership and responsibility of your work and propose optimal solutions to business requirements.
  2. Good knowledge of CDP / CBP (Snowplow, ActionIQ, Tealium, Segment or similar).
  3. Good knowledge of Python and SQL (BigQuery, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  4. Good knowledge of git (Github).
  5. Experience with Airflow and ETL development.
  6. Experience with Event Streaming and processing.
  7. Experience with Product Analytics and tracking tools (Google Analytics, Snowplow, etc.).
  8. Experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
  9. Good knowledge of Datawarehouse / Data Lakes.
  10. Experience in writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests.
Bonus points for having:
  1. Knowledge of Clean Code, Clean Architecture, DB migrations.
  2. Knowledge of Data Governance tools (Datahub, etc.).
  3. Knowledge of Docker.
  4. Experience in scraping data.
