In a moment of complete transformation, we need to grasp and boost the power of Innovation and Digital Strategy (IDS) to translate them into knowledge and impact on the healthcare ecosystem. The Innovation Business Manager is a core member of the Innovation and Digital Strategy Leadership team.

This role leads the definition and implementation of the Innovation and Digital Strategy model. He/She/They defines processes, projects, roles, and responsibilities of the team in collaboration with the Senior leadership. He/She/They ensures the strategic and tactical implementation of core projects and business innovation value chain across the team. In addition, He/She/They challenges and nurtures people managers and individual contributors to define scopes of work, roles and responsibilities, ensure in-depth understanding of objectives and priorities and leverage cross-functional alignment and efficiencies.

As a partner to the Business Leadership, this role brings independent and strategic thinking to the company, He/She/They ensures seamless implementation and adaptation of the innovation and digital strategy cross functionally.

This role includes managerial responsibility, senior decision-making skills, support driven mindset and autonomy.

Responsibilities : People and Organization:

  • Contribution to the strategic design and execution of an innovation and digital strategy internal capability program to ensure the upskilling and cross TA talent excellence for the challenges of the future.
  • Contribution to IDS internal capabilities plan regarding innovative solutions skills and capabilities on the field team, aligned with Capabilities Team.
  • Nurturing and development of cross functional teams and talent, according to AZ and healthcare ecosystem needs.

Strategy and Design:

  • Definition of the scaling strategy per solution (depending on the nature, scope and complexity of each solution, the scaling strategy will be different. In some cases, it will be account-by-account, healthcare area or CCAA).
  • Definition of the detailed Business Case associated with scaling projects (both internal and for the Healthcare System).
  • Agreements and negotiation with suppliers / start-ups for implementation beyond piloting.
  • Support to the Access team during the negotiation with the health authorities in charge of scaling (if the scaling is done at CCAA level).
  • Definition, together with the legal team, of the contracts to be able to execute the escalation.
  • Responsible for identifying and keeping updated the information systems map of the accounts, healthcare areas and Autonomous Regions in order to guarantee an optimal escalation.

Performance and Execution:

  • Coordination of the implementation of the scaling strategy at the national level.
  • Leads the Healthcare Innovative Solution Partners team in the implementation of innovative solutions in the field.
  • Coordinates other internal transversal teams to ensure the successful execution of the scaling up (Marketing, Access, Medical, Legal, Compliance, etc.).
  • Defines and monitors metrics (KPIs) and identifies corrective actions in case of deviation from targets.
  • Ensure cross-fertilization of best practices of scaling among Healthcare Innovative Solution Partners.
  • Prepares consolidated reports on the evolution of the scaling process for the Innovation Committee (will also feed the Editorial Committee).

Mandatory :

  • Bachelor's degree and masters on a related field.
  • Proven decision-making autonomy and accountability
  • More than 5 years of strategic and analytical experience in consulting or strategic projects.
  • Experience in defining strategies and building projects within the pharmaceutical industry or other biomedical stakeholders (leading cross functional teams)
  • Experience in optimizing functional working processes, managing time person matrix and ensuring performance and outcomes.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets and resources.
  • Expert on Roles and Responsibilities definition (i.e., RACI framework)
  • Strong analytical expertise and structured strategic thinking.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to impact leadership and high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.

Builds and develop effective cross functional teams.

Preferable :

  • Proven strategic experience in setting up strategic projects and working models in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven working experience and proficiency in strategy assessment and planning of digital transformation, innovation strategy and business strategy.
  • Updated with the latest trends and best practices in business innovation, including digital strategy, healthcare innovation and data driven decision making.
