Medium-sized language school entering its twelfth year of existence and growing steadily. We teach children from 3 years upwards, teenagers and adults of all ages and professions. Groups have a max. of 10 kids or 8 adults. We also have some 1-to-1 classes. We teach mainly general English, and we are a Cambridge examination preparation centre. We like to maintain a professional but easy-going, fun atmosphere at the school. The Director is on the premises all day for help and support.
Job Summary
Native/ native-level TEFL/TESOL/CELTA-qualified teachers to join our team from mid-September 2024 to end of June 2025. Positions involve teaching children from the age of 6, teenagers and adults both in groups and 1-to-1 classes. Mostly afternoon classes with some morning classes. We offer pre-start training and induction and on-the-job training throughout the year. Suitable for newly qualified teachers looking to gain some experience with support from management and fellow teachers.
Salary and Benefits
Sample salary: part-time 25 hours/week, 1200 Euros month gross. Additional hours available. All salaries include holiday pay (two weeks at Christmas, one week at Easter) and all local, regional and national holidays are observed. We offer on-the-job training and support, contract and social security, assistance with residence papers, social security and health service registration, etc. Renewable for 2024-2025 school year.
Accommodation is provided by the company in a comfortable flat in the centre of town, 2 minutes from school, sharing with other teachers. Rent and amenities deducted from pay at end of month.
Qualifications
We are looking for dynamic, fun-loving teachers with good people skills and a positive approach to teaching and learning, as well as the willingness to muck in and get the job done. TEFL/TESOL/CELTA or similar qualification is a must. Experience in TEFL teaching is not essential. Experience working with children is a bonus. No Spanish or Galician necessary. We can only accept applications from EU citizens, or from candidates who already have the necessary permit to work in Spain. In the case of non-native/ native level applicants, a verifiable C2 certificate or proof of proficiency in English and broad knowledge of the culture of English speaking countries are required.
Job Location
Qualified TEFL/TESOL/CELTA teachers for Pontevedra, north-west Spain. Job plus accommodation. On-the-job training and assistance all year round. Variety of ages and levels. Teachers are required to prepare and teach classes, correct homework, attend occasional meetings, workshops and parent-teacher meetings, write short annual reports, carry out basic administrative and organisational tasks, etc. Excellent opportunity to gain experience in a warm, friendly working atmosphere.
