This position requires developing products and product lines from concept through production using engineering skills and technical abilities. This position also requires providing engineering support services for field applications and research activities.

Main responsibilities:

1. Analyses research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposals.
2. Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs.
3. Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
4. Plans and develops experimental test programs.
5. Analyses test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
6. Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
7. Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
8. Applies basic engineering and technical theory to various projects.

Candidate profile:

1. Qualified mechanical engineer with at least 2 years of experience.
2. Experience in Railway or Automotive Industry is a plus.
3. Ability to write technical documentation for documenting design theory, calculations, procedures, instructions, test plans, and test reports.
4. Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
5. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, quadratic equations, linear and non-linear equations, and proofs of theorems.
6. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, E-mail, FEA Software, database software, and project scheduling software.
7. Advanced PTC CREO / CATIA / Auto CAD user.
8. Fluent in Spanish and English.
