Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation: Act as “Strategic Business Partner” and “Advisor” to the organization in all relevant Legal & Compliance issues. Support the business by providing the best legal and compliance advice and solutions and enable strategic initiatives, protecting and enhancing the Group’s assets. At all times ensuring a consistent and high standard of all Global Legal & Compliance standards and principles throughout the Cluster.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Assist in the management of workloads to achieve Cluster Legal & Compliance team goals and personal development objectives.
  2. Legal Role: Where appropriate lead/support the management, negotiation, and resolution of day-to-day legal and business issues for client groups within the Cluster.
  3. Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contracts to protect the interests of the adidas Group working closely with appropriate business stakeholders.
  4. Provide legal support to marketing and Retail for the organization of events.
  5. Follow-up all Corporate needs of the Company, drafting the documents and liaising with Global Corporate.
  6. Ensure compliance with GDPR of all functions when personal data are processed.
  7. Deliver training programs and materials that are applicable and relevant to stakeholders.
  8. Execute legal and compliance initiatives and efficient processes.
  9. Liaise with specialized teams within Group Legal & Compliance as required in the provision of day-to-day legal services.
  10. Drive the efficiency of existing business processes, policies, and solutions.
  11. Align with the rest of EU Clusters on legal topics when necessary.

Compliance: Support in the driving of an ethics and compliance culture and assist in the communication, education, and implementation of the Compliance program within the Cluster in accordance with the Director of Legal & Compliance’s requirements and strategies.

People: Actively participate in a positive team environment through mutual support and the pursuit of excellence. Seek out opportunities to develop professionally through coaching/mentoring programs within the adidas Group.

Key Relationships:

  1. Internal: Director Legal & Compliance - Iberia, Legal Counsel(s) - Iberia, All departments within the Cluster, Counterparts in Global Legal & Compliance functions including other European clusters, Compliance, Group Corporate etc.
  2. External: Effectively manage and supervise the delivery of legal advice and services through external counsel where needed and in accordance with set requirements. Notary, Trade Register, Authorities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Commercial thinker with confidence and speed in execution.
  2. Good analysis and problem-solving skills.
  3. Well-organized, a self-starter with enthusiasm and initiative.
  4. Negotiating skills.
  5. Ability to execute strategy as directed.
  6. Relevant experience in contract law, drafting, negotiation and business counselling.
  7. Good sense and experience of legal business management and administration with an ability to make practical evaluations of risk.
  8. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to manage and prioritize substantial and diverse workloads.
  9. Approachable and strong interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to effectively communicate complex issues in a comprehensible manner.
  11. Good MS-office skills.
  12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  13. Must be fluent in English and Spanish (both oral and writing).

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  1. University degree in Law.
  2. Internship or study abroad preferred.
  3. 5+ years of proved progressive work experience in a similar position, preferably in an international Group with Sports or Fashion exposure or in law firm.
  4. Experience in general corporate, transactional, commercial and anti-trust law.
  5. English & Spanish fluent (written and oral).
