Junior Breeder

Reporting to: Senior Breeder

Purpose: Acquire all breeding knowledge and skills to become a successful Breeder in a specific crop.

Geographical scope: One country

Operational level: Operational

Key Accountabilities:

1. Development of knowledge and skills to plan all activities of a breeding project: Translation of the set Breeding targets into an operational breeding plan.
2. Development of knowledge and skills to execute the activities of a breeding project: Making the right plant and line selections on critical moments in the breeding cycle.
3. Development of knowledge and skills to maintain detailed records throughout the breeding cycles.
4. Development of knowledge and skills to make decisions to advance material to R2 and planning of trial productions and screening trials.
5. Development of knowledge and skills to handover R3 material to Seed Production according to the defined specifications and register in the designated system (currently Varmas).
6. Development of knowledge and skills to implement developed technology and traits in the breeding program.

2. Proficient in the English and local language, both written and verbal.
