Mission and Responsibilities
As a Legal Counsel, you will be part of the Legal Team and will work with different stakeholders (Product, Fraud, Risk, IT, Compliance, etc.) of the Bank. You will help us in all legal matters related to the activity of Openbank in Spain and abroad, particularly:

  1. Legal and regulatory advice to business related to the ordinary activity of the Bank, supporting different departments (different products and services related to retail banking in a digital environment, such as consumer loans, insurance products, wealth management, payment services, etc.).
  2. Participate in the design, obtain the necessary internal and external approvals, and monitor the commercial launch of new products and services.
  3. Review and draft legal documentation such as contracts, confidentiality agreements, and communications to clients.
  4. Advise on the implementation of new regulations, at both European and national levels.
  5. Advise on administrative files and carry out procedures before public registries.
  6. Participate in digitalization and innovation projects.

To be successful in the role you must have:

  1. Degree in Spanish Law. Fully qualified lawyer in Spain.
  2. LLM in Banking Law (is a plus).
  3. Great judgment, proactive, innovative, and customer-obsessed.
  4. Be a team player and consensus builder, with great people skills who can efficiently collaborate with different areas of the organization.
  5. +6 years of experience in a banking legal environment, with relevant experience from a law firm or in-house in a financial institution.
  6. Proven experience in banking and/or investment products, particularly in regulation related to contracting banking/investment products remotely and consumer protection laws.
  7. MS advanced level is required.
  8. Fluent in English (C1).
