    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
    2. Master of Education (MEd) degree with a focus on Elementary Education (preferably)
Requirements
  1. 2 years of work experience with preschool children within the last four years (this experience must be verified by submitting an original letter from the employer on official letterhead).
  2. Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of children and community college students' diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, ethnicities, and abilities.
  3. Positive recommendations from past employers and/or training institutions.
We are seeking candidates who
  1. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  2. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the student's maturity and interests.
  3. Communicate effectively and positively with children, families, students, and staff, including articulating the theoretical base of activities and curriculum.
  4. Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and provide progress reports as required.
  5. Assist administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  6. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
  7. Attend meetings and serve on departmental committees as required.
  8. Strive to implement by instruction and action the school’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  9. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  10. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records of conferences and evaluations.
  11. The Elementary School Principal may assign other duties.
  12. Background check required.
  13. Having an excellent command of English is an essential requirement for this position.
