Head of Business Data and Architecture

We are currently looking for a:

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Continue with the evolution of the data platform from Parques Reunidos, to support the data roadmap and business strategy.
  • Being accountable for the quality of the data deliveries and conducting and managing the quality assurance of the outputs produced by the data team.
  • Collaborate on data governance committee, creation contests and training for internal communication, to leverage data for business improvement opportunities and lead initiatives for data-driven solutions.
  • Establish data governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Data budget monitoring and control for improving performance and seeking synergies to optimize the investment costs, exploring opportunities for data monetization and value creation.
  • Support data platform, in terms of platform itself with the technological support. Provide guidance on how to design and orchestrate data solutions on the cloud platform, hybrid platform or on-premises systems.
  • Effectively communicate understanding of the analytics, reporting requests and business needs to proactively research solutions and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Research industry trends, standard methodologies and review current data platform to effectively provide company staff analysis and recommend and implement potential improvements. Establish and maintain data partnerships with external organizations, vendors, and industry experts.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships internally and externally in order to facilitate the involvement of the Data team with projects across all business areas and development of new processes improvement or business opportunities.
  • Ensuring knowledge and experience is shared within the team and the wider business. Providing technical leadership and support to other team members through organized training sessions, ad hoc project advice and support on making technical decisions.
  • Manage data ethics and privacy by ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and ethical guidelines and developing policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
  • Lead, hire, develop, and manage a team of data professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment within the Digital area.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Languages:

  • Spanish – Mother tongue.
  • English: Fluent (C1 preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as Head of Data, Head of Data Analytics, Data Director, CDO or similar positions in any industry.
  • More than 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or business intelligence.
  • Proven experience in a leadership position, including project management and data technical team management.
  • Technological leadership and IT vision on data/analytical platforms.
  • Budget management experience, including business case elaboration and budget control support.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve data-driven business objectives.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to drive organizational change.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, in Spanish and in English, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment, including supporting and teaching other team members.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

Others:

  • Certification on any data cloud solution: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
  • Knowledge in Azure ML or any other Machine Learning solutions.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Dataiku, Datarobot, Databricks, H2O.ai, Azure machine learning, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Experience on Agile, Scrum, DevOps.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Approaching high-level data challenges with a clear eye on what is important; employing the right approach/methods to make the maximum use of time and human resources.
  • Effective Communication: Carefully listening to management, data analysts, and relevant staff to come up with the best data design; explaining complex concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Expert Management: Effectively directing and advising a team of data modelers, data engineers, database administrators, and junior architects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding the way your chosen industry functions and how data are collected, analyzed, and utilized; maintaining flexibility in the face of big data developments.

Relations:

Internal: All internal staff, especially fellows within the IT, Customer and Digital areas, as well as collaborating with executives of other business areas.

External: Vendors and consultants.

Organization:

Nr of direct reports: 10 internal FTE.

Any other relevant comments: This position will be based on IT, within the Digital Office, reporting to the Corporate IT Director.
