Main Purpose: Responsible for the overall crop protection, fertigation, irrigation and maintenance strategy, as well as crop rotation strategy and planification, following the new developments in the horticulture business to keep the systems on the highest level. Responsible for outside labor workforce management directing operational processes and teams in such a way that seeds are produced with the highest quality and without seed-borne diseases.

1. Crop protection, fertigation and irrigation strategy.
2. Crop rotation strategy and planification.
3. Outside labor workforce management.
4. Maintenance strategy, planning and execution.
5. Weekend duty planification and execution; crop inspection, equipment status, breakdown service.
6. Host visitors and contractors at site when required.
7. Accountable for crop protection (chemical and biological) execution.
8. Accountable for fertigation and irrigation execution.
9. Accountable for phytosanitary policy execution.
10. Accountable for external and internal regulation (HSE, QMS, CSP) compliance.
11. Accountable to ensure seed produced meets quality specifications.
12. OPEX and CAPEX management support, focus on budget.
13. Pre-Commercial Manager Back-up for home farm operational activities.

Member of Home Farm Production Leadership team. Interfaces with: VS PS Global Production Team, PS Finance & Procurement Team, Data & Analytics, IT infrastructure team, Govt / Regulatory Authorities, ESH team, Plant Operation team, R&D, Site Leadership Team.

1. B.S. in Horticulture, Agronomy, plant protection, or related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of crop management.
3. Detailed knowledge of phytosanitary protocols, plant diseases and crop protection programs, crop growing processes, and systems needed to grow several horticultural crops with the focus on producing high-quality vegetable seeds.
4. Knowledge of Climate software controls.
5. Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based environment. Manages multiple projects and priorities.
6. Develop talent and effectively leads employees through complex situations. Proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to effectively achieve business results.
7. Capacity to communicate and work effectively with all management levels in a multi-cultural organization.
