We are currently looking for a Technical Scheme Lead within our Global Seafood business who will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a range of NSF Certified Seafood schemes. Working as part of a team based remotely, our Technical Scheme Lead shall be accountable for auditing, reviewing technical reports, and conducting certification decisions where necessary. You will also ensure that adequate resources are maintained for certification activities, which will include the onboarding, training, and calibration of our team of auditors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Technical ownership, daily oversight, accountability, and management of the Seafood Schemes under NSF Certification.
  2. Ensuring they run to scheme and NSF KPIs and Scheme Owner KPI and timelines.
  3. Calibrating and training auditors (training internal staff as required).
  4. Working with Scheme Owners and Accreditation Bodies.
  5. Development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Seafood Schemes.
  6. Working with clients – effective in building relationships with clients.
  7. Attending meetings and advising clients technically.
  8. Leading on technical reviews for Seafood Schemes as required (Chain of Custody Schemes).
  9. Working with NSF Audit Delivery Managers in the recruiting, onboarding, training, and calibration (shadow/witness) of auditors.
  10. Accountable and leading on auditor calibration and training.
  11. Experience in accreditation management and scheme rules to ensure we meet the KPIs and ensure the on-time delivery of schemes.
  12. Collaborating with the other Seafood Technical Scheme Leads to ensure adequate technical cover and expertise across our Global Seafood Team.
  13. Working with our Global Local Teams to advise them of technical requirements.
  14. Team lead for the CB Management, Technical and Calibration Team members.
  15. In the absence of any Technical and Calibration Team members, review facility and final reports when submitted by auditors. Conduct the decision of certification if necessary.
  16. Technical advisor for the program with auditors, senior management, and client services.
  17. Working with the Quality Team to ensure due diligence and technical governance for Seafood and participating in internal and external audits to assigned schemes as required, including participating in the review and response to audit findings to ensure that they are addressed in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  1. Demonstrated experience in aquaculture, seafood-related business, GFSI scheme standards, accreditation under ISO 17065, audit procedures, and processes.
  2. Seafood HACCP Certification (AFDO approved or equivalent).
  3. Auditor qualification in Seafood.
  4. Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science, Fisheries Technology, Biology, or other science-related studies.
  5. Lead Assessor.
  6. A knowledge of the seafood industry.
  7. Auditing experience of seafood schemes.
  8. Experience within a certification body.
  9. Experience of meeting KPIs.
  10. Well-organized with the ability to plan and schedule work effectively.
